Description of the position

As an Integration Specialist, your role will be to support clients realizing their integration strategy and architecture principles. You will actively participate in creating and implementing roadmaps and projects aimed at enhancing clients’ integration capabilities maturity. Working closely with senior team members on various Integration projects: as-is assessment of the integration landscape, fit-gap analysis, to-be strategy, and architecture definition, creating proof of concepts, delivering integration projects, operating live solutions where your focus will also be on ensuring the effective execution of project tasks. You will engage with clients and stakeholders through clear, empathetic, and impactful communication, positively influencing them and ensuring the successful alignment of their business process integration goals with industry best practices.

As part of your role, under the coordination of leadership and more experienced colleagues, you participate in the design and implementation of integration solutions, such as:

  • Solution Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business requirements and design integration solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals.
  • API Management: Design, develop, and manage APIs, ensuring they are well-documented, secure, and scalable to facilitate communication between different applications and services.
  • Data Mapping and Transformation: Create data mappings and transformations to ensure data consistency and compatibility between various systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform thorough testing of integration solutions to ensure they meet functional and performance requirements, while also identifying and resolving any issues.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of integration solutions, identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and response times.
  • Governance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal governance policies while designing and implementing integration solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of integration processes, architecture diagrams, data flows, and technical specifications for reference by development teams and stakeholders.

  • You hold master’s or bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business or a related field.
  • You are fluent in English, fluent in Dutch or French.
  • You possess extensive proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • You enjoy solving problems and deliver solutions by thinking outside the box.
  • You have a structured approach to problem solving and you are eager to learn.
  • You embrace and adapt well to ever-changing circumstances.

Between 3-6 years of experience in (some) of the following areas:
  • Integration Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of various integration patterns, approaches, and technologies, encompassing both point-to-point and enterprise-level integration scenarios.
  • API Design and Management: Proficiency in designing and managing APIs, establishing authentication and authorization mechanisms, and managing API lifecycle.
  • EAI and iPaaS: Hands-on experience of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) technologies, iPaaS tools, and the ability to implement solutions for integration. (MuleSoft, Boomi, or other modern platforms)
  • Streaming and Message Brokers: Experience with message-oriented middleware and message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) to enable asynchronous communication and event-driven architectures.
  • Data formats and Protocols: Knowledge of various data formats and protocols such as JSON, XML, CSV, and SOAP. Different architecture styles such as REST and WebSocket, and the ability to handle data transformation and mapping between different formats.
  • Security and Compliance: Understanding of security best practices, encryption, token-based authentication, and compliance requirements related to data privacy (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • System Architecture: Ability to design and document integration architectures, considering scalability, fault tolerance, and redundancy to ensure robust and resilient solutions.
  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve complex integration challenges, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance in real-world integration scenarios.
  • Technical Expertise: General knowledge of DevOps tools, different encryption and decryption algorithms, and Java libraries and how to be leveraged within iPaaS Solutions.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify security risks, and think critically to solve problems.
  • Embracing AI: Knowledge of AI trends and how Integration & Automation can be leveraging those capabilities to deliver practical use cases and values.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt: A proactive attitude towards learning and staying updated with the latest in integration domain trends and technologies.
