The SRTAi team is a technical engineering team within Deloitte that focusses on AI asset and software development. The team develops a.o. custom AI SaaS solutions and delivers technical AI-projects for clients. We leverage data, analytics and AI to help organizations innovate, optimize decision making and risk management.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our SaaS product team. You will design, build and maintain production-grade software and AI-powered applications, working closely with product owners, front- and back-end developers, data scientists, cloud engineers and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions at scale. You bring deep hands-on experience with Python and Azure, a product-minded approach to engineering, and a drive to continuously raise the bar on code quality, security and operational excellence.

Your Responsibilities

Software Development & Architecture
  • Design, develop and maintain production-ready applications with a focus on scalability, resilience and clean architecture.
  • Apply software design principles and actively contribute to architectural decisions and design reviews.
  • Develop and document APIs (REST, async messaging) and integration patterns between services and third-party platforms.
  • Define and enforce coding standards, patterns and best practices across the codebase.
  • Leverage AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate development and improve code quality.

GenAI & Data/ML Integration
  • Build and ship GenAI-powered features end-to-end, from prototyping to live production deployment (LLMs, RAG pipelines, agents, prompt engineering).
  • Integrate ML models and data pipelines into production applications, ensuring robust data ingestion, transformation and serving layers.
  • Design and maintain data contracts and schemas between services, ensuring consistency and backward compatibility.
  • Monitor and evaluate GenAI model behaviour in production, implementing evals, feedback loops and guardrails for reliability.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to bridge the gap between experimentation and production-grade deployment.

Cloud-Native Development
  • Build and deploy containerised workloads using Docker, and support Kubernetes for orchestration in production environments.
  • Develop cloud-native applications on Azure, leveraging services such as App Service, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Hub and Azure OpenAI.
  • Own and improve CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), including automated testing, security scanning and environment promotion gates.
  • Implement environment configuration management and secrets handling following cloud-native best practices (Key Vault, managed identities).

Security & Engineering Best Practices
  • Apply secure-by-design principles: input validation, least-privilege access, secrets management and OWASP best practices.
  • Integrate static analysis (SAST), dependency scanning into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ensure GDPR and data protection requirements are respected in application design and data handling.

Testing & Code Quality
  • Write comprehensive automated tests -unit, integration, and end-to-end -maintaining high coverage.
  • Conduct and participate in thorough code reviews, providing constructive and actionable feedback.
  • Monitor application performance and reliability using observability tooling (structured logging, distributed tracing, alerting) and drive continuous improvements.

Collaboration & Team

Let's talk about you

Core Stack
  • Python – production-level proficiency: packaging, dependency management, async programming, testing and performance optimisation.
  • Microsoft Azure – hands-on experience deploying and operating cloud-native services (App Service, Functions, Service Bus, Key Vault, Azure OpenAI, etc.).
  • Docker – containerisation of applications for consistent, reproducible deployments across environments.
  • CI/CD – building and maintaining automated pipelines (Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions), including deployment gates and environment promotion.

GenAI & Data
  • GenAI in Production – demonstrated experience shipping LLM-based applications (RAG, agents, function calling, prompt engineering) to real users at scale.
  • AI-Assisted Coding – active and proficient use of tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code in daily development.
  • Data integration – experience connecting applications to SQL/NoSQL data stores, blob/object storage and external APIs with robust error handling and retries.

  • Fluent in English, and Dutch or French.
