The life of a Lead Data Engineer is very diverse. From implementing, code reviewing, and debugging data pipelines yourself to leading potential large teams in complex data migrations for our clients.
Your role and tasks can switch frequently depending on the project at hand. Meaning that one day you might be building a data warehouse and the next you are assisting our cloud team with providing the right information for the ideal setup for a large data platform.
On many occasions you will be the key link between Deloitte leadership, Client leadership, your own technical team and both the technical & business teams at the client.
Internally you will leverage your knowledge & experience to bring your fellow data engineers to the next level, while also build PoC’s, accelerators that will help our clients in getting most out of there data.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a lead specialist you will actively share your data engineering expertise with the junior members of the team (Business analysts, consultants). In this way you take up your coaching role.
- At the same time, you work within client project teams in a hands-on way to deliver data engineering solutions that address complex client needs.
- You provide various types of data engineering services to clients, continuously evolving by learning new tools, methodologies, and diversifying your expertise.
- You keep a strong focus on best practices to enhance the impact of our solutions on client outcomes.
- You deliver exceptional client service, focusing on problem-solving, developing others, and building strong relationships.
- From a technology stack perspective, your main focus will be on Azure . But experience in other technologies such as AWS, Snowflake and Google are equally appreciated.
- In this respect, you collaborate intensively with external and internal technology specialists.
- You proactively broaden and deepen relationships with senior-level clients, identifying additional opportunities for collaboration.
Let's talk about you:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale data solutions.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms, preferably with a focus on the Azure technology stack.
- Proven experience with data modelling techniques such Kimball & Data vault.
- Expertise skill in SQL (any variant) is a must.
- Other standard practices languages (such as Python, Java, or Scala) come naturally to you too.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices.
- You are energized by sharing your knowledge with other (junior) team members
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and client relationship management skills.
