Head of PMO (Project Management Office)
Job Overview:
The Head of PMO is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the Project Management Office (PMO) within the organization. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring effective project governance, portfolio management, and project delivery. The Head of PMO collaborates with senior management, project managers, and other stakeholders to align projects with strategic goals and drive organizational success.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the PMO strategy, vision, and goals aligned with the organization's overall objectives.
  • Establish and ensure compliance with project management standards, methodologies, and best practices across the organization.
  • Define and maintain the PMO's governance framework, including project prioritization and decision-making processes.
  • Lead and manage a team of project management professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Monitor and evaluate project performance and progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Conduct project portfolio assessments and prioritize projects based on their strategic value and resource availability.
  • Collaborate with senior management to provide project updates, performance insights, and strategic recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure PMO effectiveness and project success.
  • Facilitate project reviews and post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee resource allocation and capacity planning to optimize project execution and resource utilization.
  • Provide support and guidance to project managers in addressing project challenges and resolving issues.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the PMO, identifying opportunities for process enhancement.
  • Develop and deliver project management training and workshops to enhance project management capabilities.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to align project objectives with organizational strategy.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
  • Lead and implement key projects, taking responsibility for their successful execution from inception to completion.
Let's talk about you
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration, project management, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in project management and PMO leadership, managing complex projects and portfolios.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate the PMO team.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical abilities to align projects with organizational goals and drive success.
  • Solid understanding of project financials, budget management, and cost control.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills to address project-related challenges.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools for effective PMO operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • High level of adaptability and flexibility to accommodate changing project requirements and priorities.
  • Experience in change management and driving organizational change through project initiatives.
