As a Junior Enterprise Security Architect in our Cyber team, you will be involved in local and international projects to design, establish, improve and enhance the (Cloud) Security Architecture of our clients. You will be part of a team of seasoned cyber security professionals where inclusive leadership, continuous learning and coaching culture is considered an essential part of who we are.

As a security architect, you will address diverse challenges for our clients, spanning a wide range of scenarios. Your work will primarily be project-based, varying from short-term architecture & solutions security assessments (e.g. couple of weeks projects) to longer-term engagements focused on developing/enhancing security architectures (e.g. spanning multiple months). Additionally, the role may entail being embedded within a client's environment, functioning as an integral part of their team for extended periods, typically spanning several months.

In your role you will focus mainly on designing, implementing, and managing the enterprise-wide (cloud) security architecture, perform assessment, advise customers on best practices approaches and solutions to protect our client's information assets. This role requires a deep understanding of (cloud) security principles, technologies, and best practices, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Security Architecture is at the core of implementing successful a good (cloud) cybersecurity posture, by maintaining an overview of the security capabilities, ensuring the reuse of cybersecurity controls and solutions, as well as ensuring an optimal interconnexion of the different security controls.

Typical projects are:

  • Supporting customers in establishing their Enterprise Security Architecture, in close cooperation with the Enterprise Architecture team, but also with key stakeholders like the Chief Information Security Officer.
  • Developing blueprints and artefacts for key security controls and capabilities across the organization, ensuring mitigation of risks and compliance to key regulations.
  • Defining the optimal security controls required to secure the customer environment (both on premises and cloud), as well as their interconnexions.
  • Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Work closely with development, operations, and IT teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle.
  • Within the Deloitte cyber team, we collaborate across sub-teams, depending on the active projects and the challenges of our clients we also help in other cybersecurity domains (e.g. cyber strategy, incident response, monitoring and detection, etc.).
Let's talk about you

You are passionate about technology, particularly in the realm of securing IT (and OT) systems and are committed to continuously expanding your knowledge. With 2-5 years of cybersecurity experience, ideally in a consulting capacity, you possess some of the following skills:

Technical skills
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS).
  • Interest in establishing and / or maintaining Enterprise Security Architecture model and related artefacts following the TOGAF or SABSA model. Having a SABSA and/or TOGAF certifications will be considered as a strong differentiator.
  • Transversal knowledge of cybersecurity. CISSP or Security+ certification will be considered as a strong differentiator.
  • Security architecture knowledge and certifications (Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect certification, GIAC GDSA, Comptia CASP+
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and their security features & tooling. Optional: Relevant certifications (e.g. Azure Security Engineer Associate, etc.)
  • Optional: Knowledge of container security and serverless security.
  • Optional: Experience with DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipleines
Soft skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to prepare and organize workshops with various stakeholders to align on a complex issue.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to priorities tasks effectively.
  • Continuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated with industry trends.
  • 2 – 5 years of relevant consulting or industry experience
  • Fluency in English, with professional proficiency in Dutch or French considered advantageous
  • Coaching skills to support the professional development of junior colleagues
  • You demonstrate commitment to teamwork, fostering a supportive environment for colleagues.

Requirements
  • Meeting the requirements to obtain a security clearance (SECRET) for Belgium, Europe and NATO or already possessing the clearance.
