Your journey with us
As an SAP Archiving & ILM Manager at Deloitte, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale data archiving and Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) solutions across complex SAP landscapes. You'll be at the forefront of helping our clients balance regulatory compliance, system performance, and cost efficiency while managing critical data assets. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to solve some of our clients' most challenging data governance challenges. You will be part of the SAP Digital Content Services (SAP DCS) team.
Your responsibilities will include: 
  • Lead Solution Design & Implementation: Design and implement comprehensive SAP Data Archiving strategies for transactional and master data across SAP modules (FI, CO, MM, SD, HR, etc.). Configure and deploy SAP ILM or alternative solutions (Jivs, OpenText InfoArchive, SNP) for retention management, residence rules, and legal hold functionality. Integrate ILM with external storage systems and cloud environments.
  • Drive Compliance & Governance: Ensure all solutions comply with GDPR, local data privacy laws, and industry-specific regulations. Define and implement retention policies, data destruction workflows, and comprehensive audit trails. Partner with compliance and security teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
  • Optimize System Performance: Analyze system performance metrics and database growth patterns; recommend and implement archiving strategies to optimize SAP HANA and traditional database environments. Monitor archiving jobs, identify bottlenecks, and continuously improve operational efficiency.
  • Enable Integration & Interoperability: Configure ILM integration with SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, and third-party storage/content management systems. Support ILM implementations for SAP Business Suite on HANA and hybrid/cloud landscapes.
  • Ensure Quality & Documentation: Develop comprehensive test plans for archiving and ILM scenarios; execute functional and compliance testing. Create and maintain technical documentation, configuration guides, and operational runbooks for client teams.
  • Lead & Mentor Teams: Collaborate with Basis, Security, Compliance, and Business Process Owners. Conduct workshops and training sessions for IT and business teams. Lead and mentor junior consultants on project delivery, fostering knowledge transfer and professional development.

Let's talk about you

  • You have at least 7 years of working experience in SAP environment with 3+ years dedicated to SAP Archiving and ILM.
  • Proven track record of end-to-end ILM implementations in large enterprise landscapes (using Retention Management, Residence Rules, Legal Hold.
  • You brings deep knowledge and understanding of SAP Data Archiving and SAP S4/Hana and ECC data structures, other Data Archiving solutions in the SAP eco system such as Jivs and OpenText InfoArchive, SAP Content Server is a plus.
  • You have a strong understanding of GDPR, data privacy, and regulatory retention requirements.
  • Experience implementing legal hold and audit-compliant deletion processes.
  • Experience in regulated industries (finance, pharma, utilities) is a plus.
  • Certifications in SAP, ILM ISO 27001 are also valuable.
  • You are fluent in English, knowledge of French and Dutch is a plus.
