Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) are transforming the operations of many businesses. With the rapid advancements in AI, companies can leverage these technologies to enhance various aspects, such as strategic planning and customer service. However, as AI technologies evolve, it is crucial to manage the associated risks. This is where AI assurance becomes essential, ensuring that the risks posed by AI are properly managed and addressing the concerns of the public and regulators.

For example: what are the consequences if an algorithm steers actions to persons based on incomplete or faulty data? Or were sufficient ethical safeguards applied during the development of AI systems, in line with the code of conduct of the company? These, and many more potential pitfalls make trusting AI systems a multi-facetted issue, that adresses the optimal use of smart IT systems by aligning policy and governance with data, security and privacy.

Deloitte's Algorithm & AI Assurance team is at the forefront of this apidly evolving landscape. We are a multi-disciplinary team of specialists with expertise in artificial intelligence, data science, regulatory compliance, and audit & assurance. We work with organisations across industries to help them build trust and confidence in their algorithms and AI systems.

Our team plays a critical role in shaping the responsible development and use of these transformative technologies. We are passionate about helping our clients understand and manage the risks associated with algorithms and AI. We also provide independent Assurance to companies on their compliance with new Algorithm and AI related regulations.


Your tasks

  • Working within a team to provide professional services across the Algorithm and AI Assurance focus areas described above.
  • Providing assurance over large technology platforms compliance with AI regulations and standards: Digital Services Act, EU AI Act, ISO 42001.
  • Completing Algorithm and AI control reviews and control testing (training can be provided on how to apply Deloitte’s proprietary Algorithm and AI assurance procedures)
  • Supporting with day-to-day delivery of project objectives, interaction with clients, and regular reporting to team leads
  • Preparing deliverables including written reports, working papers, and summary analyses.
  • Ensuring project deliverables are undertaken in accordance with quality and risk requirements.
  • Shaping the commercial offering around AI Assurance within Deloitte Belgium, in interaction with experts, the international Deloitte network, and clients.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Keen interest in regulatory requirements relating to algorithms impacting firms and emerging regulation in AI/Algorithms (e.g. EU AI Act, ISO42001, etc)
  • Experience in risk and control assessments (preferably IT, Algorithm or AI related)
  • Highly proficient in written and oral communication, including experience in written deliverables to senior stakeholders
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Impressive analytical capabilities (including proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Strong Project Management Skills (input to the design of approach, management of junior staff, client stakeholders, timely reporting to internal and client senior management)
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Highly motivated, committed with a positive and ambitious attitude.
  • You have a strong and proven affinity with AI or data analytics, with experience in practical projects.
  • Fluent Dutch or French and English

Additional desirable experience includes:
  • Experience with regards to algorithm or technology control enhancement and regulatory change projects (e.g. through working within a risk and controls team at another professional services firm or within industry, or through experience in regulatory supervision).
  • Experience in working with control frameworks and/or control framework enhancement, especially relating to algorithms or AI.
