Description of the position

Can’t wait to make an impact on the world? You’re not alone. Join us in driving progress in the working world and beyond.

In M&A Transaction Diligence, we help our clients navigate the complexity of M&A transactions by providing specialised advice, both in connection with the acquisition or divestment of companies.
Our work includes, among others, financial analysis of historical trading and balance sheets and assessing consistency in forecasts compared to historical trends, order books and other known factors, to get the best possible basis for valuing a business.
Our work supports our clients with relevant knowledge to make a valuation of a business and to understand operational and financial assets and liabilities as well as other risks to be considered in the transaction context. We serve both domestic and international private equity firms and strategic corporates, advising them on high-stakes acquisitions and divestitures.

We are open either to a (Senior) Consultant or a (Senior) Manager, see both roles below.

M&A Data Analytics (Senior) Consultant

Data is no longer a byproduct of a transaction - it is the heartbeat. Our Transaction Diligence Data Analytics team bridges enterprise data and the strategic "single source of truth" that defines deal valuation. We are looking for an M&A Data Analytics (Senior) Consultant to join our fast-growing practice and transform complex data into actionable investment intelligence.

Your journey with us

Be a part of the new and fast-growing area of M&A, where we use data to drive insights and decisions in both buy- and sell-side transactions. You will work directly with our due diligence teams to validate the "equity story" of a target company.

Data analytics within M&A goes beyond processing numbers; it is about creating a “single source of truth” that underpins or validates the equity story in close collaboration with the broader deal team. You will transform complex data engineering and analytics tasks into simple, compelling narratives, providing strategic insights directly impacting deals.

As an (Senior) Consultant you will contribute to project delivery with continuous support from the team to help you learn and grow in your role. As you develop in your role you will take on greater responsibility in driving our projects forward and improving our offering. You will get the opportunity to improve not only your analytical and problem-solving abilities, but also your understanding of the M&A process and identifying value drivers and risks within a business.
Expect to engage in dynamic client projects, each with its own unique business model and data sources, which will challenge you to innovate through programming (e.g., Python, R) and visualisation (Power BI, Alteryx) in our quest to extract strategic insights.

Let’s talk about you

  • Educational background: You hold a master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Finance Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or similar.
  • Professional experience: You bring 3 to 5  years of experience in data analytics or related roles, ideally with direct exposure to Transaction Services, Corporate Finance, or M&A environments.
  • Technical expertise: Experience in programming or analytical tools such as Python, R, SQL and Power BI. Familiarity with Python libraries like Pandas, NumPy, SciKit-Learn, and Statsmodels, as well as DAX measures in Power BI, is highly advantageous.
  • Finance knowledge: Previous experience or familiarity with finance and accounting concepts is a plus.
  • Analytical skills: Strong quantitative capabilities and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Attention to detail: Ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in every aspect of your work.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment and clearly articulate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Languages: Fluency in Dutch and/or French, and English is required.
