We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager to join our Total Rewards team. This role focuses on compensation & benefits, business development, go-to-market initiatives, innovation in solution development and team leadership.
Role Summary: As a Senior Manager specializing in Compensation & Benefits, you will play a pivotal role in advising on and implementing advanced Total Rewards strategies. You will lead strategic client engagements, drive business growth and develop innovative solutions that align with market trends and client needs. Additionally, you will be responsible for leading and nurturing a team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement and Advisory:
- Build and manage strong, trusted relationships with key clients, deeply understanding their business needs and providing tailored, high-impact Total Rewards advice.
- Lead high-profile workshops, training sessions and client engagements, educating clients on best practices and strategic approaches in Total Rewards management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Deloitte to deliver integrated, holistic solutions that address clients' broader business challenges.
- Compensation Strategy and Analysis:
- Lead the design and implementation of competitive compensation frameworks/reward strategies, including salary structures, pay grades and variable pay programs that align with clients' strategic goals.
- Provide senior-level guidance on equity-based compensation plans, such as stock options and long-term incentive programs, ensuring they meet clients' strategic objectives and market practices.
- Benefits Design and Management:
- Oversee the evaluation and design of comprehensive benefits programs, including health, wellness and retirement plans, that support clients in achieving their business goals.
- Analyze and benchmark benefits offerings against market data to ensure competitiveness and alignment with evolving employee needs and preferences.
- Offer strategic insights on emerging trends in employee benefits, including flexible benefits, mental health support and financial wellness initiatives.
- Compliance and Best Practices:
- Ensure that all compensation and benefits programs comply with relevant local, national and international legislation and standards.
- Provide strategic advice on the implications of regulatory changes and assist clients in adapting their Total Rewards strategies to maintain compliance and competitiveness.
- Conduct high-level audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks associated with compensation and benefits practices.
- Data-Driven Insights and Reporting:
- Utilize analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs and identify opportunities for strategic optimization.
- Prepare and deliver detailed, executive-level reports and presentations to clients, offering insights into complex compensation and benefits data.
- Leverage technology tools and platforms to enhance the efficiency, accuracy and strategic value of compensation and benefits analysis.
- Business Development and Go-to-Market Strategy:
- Drive business growth by identifying new market opportunities and developing strategic plans to expand Deloitte’s Total Rewards services.
- Lead business development efforts, including client prospecting, proposal development and pitching Deloitte’s Total Rewards capabilities to potential clients.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for innovative compensation and benefits solutions, positioning Deloitte as a market leader in Total Rewards.
- Innovation and Solution Development:
- Lead the development of innovative Total Rewards solutions, working closely with the team to address emerging client needs and market trends.
- Foster a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging the development of new ideas and approaches to Total Rewards challenges.
- Team Development and Leadership:
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages growth and innovation.
- Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to team members, helping them build their skills and advance their careers within Deloitte.
- Manage team performance, setting clear goals and expectations and providing regular feedback to ensure continuous improvement and excellence.
Let’s Talk About You
- Experience:
- At least 7 years of experience in compensation & benefits/reward consulting or related roles.
- Proven track record in business development, client engagement, project management and go-to-market activities within a professional services or consulting environment.
- Education:
- Master degree in Economics, Law, Human Resources, Business, Finance or a related field.
- Advanced certifications or credentials in compensation or benefits are a plus.
- Language:
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and one additional language (Dutch or French) is essential for this role.
- Proficiency in the second language (Dutch or French) is highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
- Leadership and Business Acumen:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team, drive business growth and deliver high-quality client engagements.
- Excellent business acumen, with a deep understanding of how Total Rewards strategies impact overall business performance and employee engagement.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in compensation analysis, market benchmarking tools and benefits management systems.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with familiarity in HRIS and data visualization tools enhancing the ability to present data compellingly.
- Communication and Client Skills:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively convey complex compensation and benefits concepts to senior executives.
- Strong interpersonal skills, enabling the development of trusted relationships with clients, internal stakeholders and industry leaders.
- Strategic and Problem-Solving Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, innovate and provide high-impact solutions to complex compensation and benefits challenges.
- Effective project management skills, with a track record of leading projects to successful completion on time and within scope.
- Client-Centric Approach:
- Deep understanding of how compensation and benefits strategies drive business performance and enhance employee engagement.
- Proven ability to work closely with clients to identify their needs and deliver tailored, strategic solutions that achieve significant business outcomes.
